This project is funded through The Big Lottery Fund. The project has four areas of Remit. It works in three geographical areas of Lisburn, Hillhall Estate, Hilden and Old Warren Estate which are disadvantaged communities within Lisburn. The fourth area of remit is working with the minority ethnic communities within the Greater Lisburn area.
The project works with young people aged between 5 – 25 years of age in a range of recreational and structured youth provision. The project has enabled the most disadvantaged areas of Lisburn to deliver youth services for the first time and identify and fill in gaps in provision in other areas. The project services cover all areas under the youth work curriculum.
Aims of the project
To create a non-sectarian, racist environment free from discrimination within the three target areas. To integrate young people into civic society through collaborative partnership working to include all stakeholders within the local communities.
